Music in Buffalo's Historic Places and June in Buffalo present a concert celebrating the 40th anniversary of the legendary new music festival on the main stage of Buffalo's Kleinhans Music Hall on Friday, June 5th at 6:00pm. The concert will feature music by composers Bernard Rands and Augusta Read Thomas - two composers who have long been regular guests of the festival - as well as works by Jacob Druckman and former BPO music director, composer Lukas Foss.
Audience members will be seated on stage for performances by soprano Julia Bentley, cellist Veronica Nettles and flutist Emlyn Johnson as well as participants of the June in Buffalo Performance Institute and violinist Christina Courtin. Daniel Bassin and Matthew Chamberlain will conduct.
